Lucy's a dance gypsy, which is defined as someone who will spend more time traveling to a dance than actually dancing. English Country Dancing, sometimes in full Jane Austen-style regalia, is her main passion, but she's been known to folk or ballroom dance at recorder rehearsal intermission.

When not playing recorder or dancing, you'll find Lucy, a pediatrician and preventive medicine physician, doing research at Winthrop University Hospital or teaching medical students and residents at SUNY/Stony Brook about epidemiology and preventive medicine. Her husband shares her love of dance and music, but alas their two cats do not. Their two children are ambivalent, but Lucy intends to make sure that music plays an important role in the lives of her four grandchildren."
