At age five I spent my candy money on a little tin flute on which I taught myself to play simple tunes. From there I graduated to soprano and alto and at age twelve I dared to perform a movement from a Handel sonata. Since then ensemble playing has been my greatest enjoyment and challenge. I joined RONY at its inception, have been a member of the Recorder Swing Band for ten years, and play regularly in several smaller ensembles on all recorders from soprano to great bass.
